Open Until Further Notice: Lee and Harnett County, North Carolina Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

This waiting list is for Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher rental housing assistance in Lee and Harnett County, North Carolina .

The Sanford Housing Authority (SHA) is accepting Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from May 17, 2024 at 11:00 am ET, until 1,500 applications have been received. This is the first time the waiting list has opened since it closed in April, 2023.

This waiting list has the following preferences:

  • Involuntary Displacement
  • Homeless Veterans
  • Chronically Homeless
  • Single Elderly/ Disabled
  • Elderly or Disabled with Minor Children
  • Homeless Families that include minor children who are identified by a social service agency providing shelter or law enforcement
  • In Place – eligible applicants who reside in units at the time of the PBV property owner’s proposal selection date for Project-based assistance

1,500 selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.
